Painted Feet

Lilly had some nail polish, she liked to paint her toes.
Becky had a purple shirt, she loved her purple clothes.
Some said that they were sisters, two apples with one core.
Some said that they were sisters, for the nail polish they wore.
Two better friends you'll never find nor shall you ever meet.
But one thing I can't understand is why they paint their feet?
